# Hunting and killing demolishers

{% hint style="info" %}
Demolishers spawn the moment a key is inserted in a conduit. The spawn location is not affected by your location, so if your teammate places a key and you are in a side room, a demolisher can spawn on you. Generally demolishers spawn far away from the conduit, around 4 tiles away (depending on the tileset).
{% endhint %}

You can hear demolishers when they are near you, but you can also see them in two other ways:

* **Demolisher Marker** - The first one is the recent addition of an indicator on your HUD that shows you where the demolisher is. The indicator can appear instantly or after up to 7-8sec. The indicator reappears when you get closer to the target.
* **Enemy Radar** - For the second option you will need to be in a squad, and stacking many Enemy radar auras, which in turn will give everyone a large enemy detection radar. In this fashion, demolisher spawns can be seen immediately on the minimap. Some practice is needed to identify which new “red arrow” is the demolisher that just spawned, but this is the most accurate and fastest way.

There is not much to say about killing the demolishers. You either have enough damage or not. Careful to not get hit by the **nullifying pulse**, as this will remove most of your buffs and will in turn slow down the kill. You can also stun them with **magus lockdown**, or some Warframe abilities.

A specific case which would increase the attention given to the demolisher is when a conduit procs a specific debuff, such as **Energy Drain** or **Enemy Toxin Weapon**, in which case these could be prioritized by a player from the squad (case dependant).\
If on the 45th round the debuff Pack Hunter, stronger key carriers, ghouls eruption, robotic onslaught, brood surge proc, you need to kill the demolishers because it will delete all enemies and block the spawn.

## Demolisher Spawn

Understanding how Demolisher spawn is critical to mastering Disruption. A thorough knowledge of their spawn logic will allow you to pre-shoot demolisher locations significantly faster, thereby optimizing your inter-round timing.

### **The D**emolisher **spawn method is as follows :**

They will always spawn at the maximum possible distance from the active Conduit key. In the majority of cases, they will appear in the second room. Which, as shown in the video below, allows you to pre-shoot their spawn points with ease.

However, it can happen that the demolisher spawns at the furthest point from the key, but within the same room. Below, you can see an example of a demolisher spawning in the same room, albeit at a considerable distance. This occurs occasionally.

As you may have gathered, understanding demolisher spawn patterns is essential. Whether you're running in a squad or a duo, knowing these patterns ensures you are always ready to pre-shoot every possible spawn.

## Conduit Debuff/Buff

Once a key is slotted, modifiers appear. Whether buffs or debuffs, there are many of them. It is important to know the most threatening debuffs for a run, and how to protect yourself from them.

### Toxin Weapon

This debuff is by far the most dangerous. It adds a Toxin elemental damage line to enemy attacks. When they hit you, this damage bypasses shields entirely and is applied directly to your Warframe's health.

Contrary to a very common misconception, it is not only the Toxin status effect (the DoT) that ignores shields — the Toxin elemental damage itself also deals direct damage to health points.

At higher rounds, this debuff becomes particularly punishing. A single enemy bullet will be enough to one-shot you. It is therefore important to have the right reflexes, such as playing with a Dante Specter ([Specters](/disruption-guide/documentation/basics/specters.md)) or using Vazarin frequently when a Tox Weapon modifier appears ([Focus - Tenno](/disruption-guide/documentation/basics/focus-tenno.md#vazarin)).

### Energy drain

While with the recommended builds this modifier is not an issue, it can become one if you linger too long on the kill phase. Of course it cannot kill you, nor technically slow you down if you are reasonably fast, but it can significantly throw you off if you are not prepared for heavy sustained energy drain.

There is no real technique to counter it. Stick to the provided builds and everything will be fine.
